The ISO Nightshade is the strongest SMG you can use from the moment Create-a-Class opens. Dexerto gives it S-Tier, warzoneloadout.games rates it Absolute Meta at fifth for versatile multiplayer, and wzstats has it second among close-range guns. Our verdict is to level it first and run the Apex build below. This applies to multiplayer on the 28 October pre-Season 1 balance.

Why this build works
CODMunity shows 260ms inside 10m, 400ms from 10-40m, 518ms from 40-80m and 594ms from 80-120m. That is only 8ms behind the VEL 46 up close, though the gap widens to 33ms in the second band.
The stock and rear grip pay back most of the ADS time lost to the suppressor and the Fireline Grip, and the recoil they add roughly cancels the Fireline Grip's cut. CODMunity notes the ISO Trace is a free benefit with no cost to the rest of the gun, and the build scores 8.3 out of 10 on EaseScore. Dexerto's description points to the fast firing rhythm and a notable recoil signature, so the grip is doing real work here. The gun fires 923 rounds per minute from a 30-round base magazine, according to Gamerfuzion.
The 28 October update raised arm and hand damage multipliers from 0.95 to 1.
How to play it
Treat it as a close-range gun with a little reach: the zoom from the Trace helps you see targets, but the 518ms figure past 40m is not competitive. It loses clean duels to the VEL 46 at very short range and to any rifle holding a long lane. CODMunity counts 9 close-range builds from pros and verified creators on this gun, which suggests it is a common choice in serious play, though those builds are not public.

Low level (wzstats): FSS Crackdown, ZLR Mag-Z 9", Demo STP-1, GI-80 MilSpec Stock, 9mm Parabellum Frangible. Everything arrives by weapon level 16.
